Sympathy Messages for Flowers or Cards

One of the things I always struggle with is figuring out something good or meaningful to write on sympathy cards or sympathy flower arrangement cards. Here are a few suggestions that might spur some creativity or that can stand on their own should you choose to use them.

Messages for Cards on Funeral Flower Arrangements:

Sleep peacefully sweet friend (my love, dearheart, sweetheart). You will live on in our hearts forever.

Gone but never forgotten. We miss you.

Life will be different without you. All our lives were enriched by knowing you.

You will always hold a place in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

With blessings, love, and prayers.

We never had a chance to say goodbye. We love you. You will forever remain in our hearts.

What the caterpillar perceives as the end, to the butterfly it is just the beginning.

There are no goodbyes for us, wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.

Though words, however gentle, cannot take your loss away, still may these flowers sent in sympathy help comfort you today.

Our hearts are filled with sorrow.

Our hearts are with you.

Please know our loving thoughts embrace you.

Thinking of you in these difficult times.

I can’t believe [name] is gone. Such a beautiful soul. I can’t imagine life without his/her/their beautiful smile and laughter. He/she/they will truly be missed.

I hope you find comfort in the memories you hold and those held by all of us during this most difficult time.

[Name] was an incredible soul and leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories.

Words fall short of expressing my sorrow. My condolences, and know I’m always there in your time of need.

When a person becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

May [Name] rest in peace. We share in your sorrow.

Godspeed friend.

With love to you and your family.

May these flowers remind you of our thoughts and prayers.

Especially for deceased children:

How very quietly you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footprints have left on our hearts. (words by Dorothy Ferguson)

Your child’s big heart and beautiful personality were infectious. My heart breaks for you and your family.

The love and joy that your child brought to us will never be forgotten.

Your son/daughter was a true inspiration to everyone around him/her/them. I am lucky to have known him/her/them for the time that I did. Our prayers are with you.

Sending you love and prayers and hope you are able to find strength during this dark time.
