From the Introduction:
When faced with a terminal illness, there are many things to consider. However, there are a few things to plan for that are typically less thought about until the late stages of the illness. When we see people during this challenging period, it is their most difficult and intimate time. Once it sinks in that the person for sure isn’t going to recover, reality sets in hard with friends and family.
Sometimes there’s a mad dash to say goodbye. This booklet was written for anyone dealing with impending death—the patient, their friends, family, and caregiver. So whether you are on the side of the family looking to establish a sense of calm from the chaos or wondering what the etiquette is for helping the family and visiting your dying loved one, this booklet is for you.
